We employ a strong and dedicated team of experienced people to organise and deploy our fleet of equipment and labour. We introduce to you some of our key people below – they have made the success of Connor Construction possible and are committed to the continual improvement of our service.

Ian Webb

Company Director/Founder And Contracts Manager

An ambitious self-starter and self-confessed quick learner, Ian has over 25 years’ experience in the industry. He worked as a subcontractor for Ringway, Tarmac, Spadeoak, CEMEX and Lafarge before establishing Connor Construction as a company of integrity and quality in 2008. Ian started out as an operative, learning the trade from the bottom up and completing all activities associated with the laying of asphalt, including, prep work, rake, screws, paver and roller driving and chipping. He also has several years’ experience of groundworking and civils, from kerbing to drainage and concrete, providing a rounded practical education in highways. Ian's passion for the business and his dedication to exceeding client expectations has ensured that the company continues to grow and deliver what the industry needs, whenever and wherever it needs it!

Operations Director

Rich has been with Connor Construction for 5 years ensuring the smooth running and delivery of our expert services. Rich is responsible for the co-ordination of all Labour and Plant, smoothly delivered thanks to his established reputation within the industry with staff and clients. With a workforce of over 100 highly skilled people to manage, Rich ensures that all our guys are face-fit tested, health checked and that all of their training is maintained. With a dedicated Operations Team behind him to assist in the development of our efficient electronic programming tool, Rich ensures that all resources are accounted for and fed into the invoicing system.With over 15 years experience within the quarry and construction industry, you can rest assured that no matter what you need, Rich will ensure your expectations are exceeded through clear communication, his in-depth industry knowledge and his 'nothing but the best' attitude.

Operations Manager

Paul has worked for Connor Construction for 8 years now. After working on site as a highly skilled Operator, Labourer and Forman, Paul just recently joined the Operations Department where his expert industry knowledge, both off and on site, has been highly valued by our clients. Paul ensures that all the Plant and Labour hire is organised to meet the requirements of our clients. No matter what you need, Paul will sort it for you!

Geoff Shearn

Contracting Business Manager

Geoff  joined Connors to drive the development and management of further contracting solutions, facilitating our growth as a well-known contractor within the industry. He brings with him over 40 years of practical highways and civil engineering management experience. From starting out as an asphalt laboratory technician in the 1970’s, Geoff has built an illustrious career as a Contract Manager, delivering complex and high profile civil engineering projects for employers such as CEMEX and Wainwrights.

Nicoleta Graves

Transport Manager

Operations Manager Nicoleta joined the company in 2015 after 7 years working as a stores and production manager. She is responsible for ensuring all Connor fleet is up-to-date on MOT, insurance and inspections, keeping meticulous records and working closely with the Workshop. Nicky arranges the Low Loader moves with Paul to ensure that the right plant is delivered to each customer at the right time. She holds a Certificate of Professional Competence in Road Haulage.

Mark Coombs

NPORS Instructor

Mark is responsible for delivering NPORS training and Exams, as well as co-ordinating the training of our highly skilled workforce. He provides NPORS training and testing for Pavers, Planers and Chippers, as well as other plant used within the road construction industry. Our NPORS training service is available not just for our own company, but yours as well. And with 30 years industry experience as well as a personal passion for helping others to progress their skills, you can rest assured to receive great service.

Peter Aylesbury

Senior Fitter

Peter has been with Connors since its formation in 2008, bringing over 40 years fitting experience to our Workshop. He started his career as a mechanic in the Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (REME) where he stayed for 12 years, before furthering his career, including several years as an HGV driver. Peter is responsible for our Workshops and fitters, ensuring that the fleet is maintained to an exceptional standard, as well as providing driver resilience for the low loaders.

Julie Peet

Senior Fitter

Julie has been with the company since we started in 2008, having worked in administration and management roles within offices for over 25 years previously. As an original member of the Connor team, Julie knows the business inside out and is an integral part of our successful operation. She plays a critical role in the management of our complex IT systems, and is responsible for client accounts management and the payroll of over 100 employees, ensuring good working relationships are maintained and our staff are paid on time. Julie's diligent, trustworthy and tenacious work ethic ensures that Connor consistently performs well above client expectations.

Laura Dolman

Accounts Assistant

Laura assists Accounts Director, Julie Peet, in our very busy accounts department. Laura works as our Purchase Ledger, but also handles credit control and helps Julie out with wages. She has proven to be able to handle anything that is needed in order to meet the needs of our clients, company and suppliers. The decision to join Connor Construction (South West) Ltd was due to Laura recognising our growing success. Laura particularly enjoys working in a fast-paced and challenging environment, which is very useful at our busy head office! She also says that she loves the fantastic working environment that we have here!


Starting work as an Accounts Assistant at the age of 19, Laura has brought with her a vast amount of experience working within accounts and has predominantly worked within the Construction industry. In addition, Laura has a useful background in facilities management, helping her gain a vast understanding of a business environment.      

Genevieve Thorogood


Gen joined our team in 2015 and comes from a background of 11 years in retail and customer service.  Gen is an excellent communicator and brings a bright, professional edge to our front desk, she also looks after all our marketing and social media activity. She looks forward to taking your call!
