We pride ourselves on our ‘can do’ attitude and have assisted our clients in many emergency situations, ensuring that they keep the highways network running smoothly and minimise disruption to the travelling public.
On the 21st June, we received a call at 7am on a Sunday about the Hindhead Tunnel on the A3 Southbound which had suffered a vehicle fire. We were able to mobilise a full machine lay gang to site by the 5pm requirement, responding professionally to the challenges of restricted height and electric cats eyes. We completed the works swiftly and to a high quality, allowing the area to be reopened with minimum disruption. Aggregate Industries were appreciative of our effective response and are looking for us to complete more works for them.
Most recently, on an August Bank Holiday Friday, we were called at 7.30pm with regards to a crash involving two lorries and a car on the M4 Westbound near Reading. We had an entire team mobilised and on their way within half an hour. We planed out and resurfaced the carriageway to Aggregate Industries’ complete satisfaction, allowing the reopening of the lane by 2am.
We have also completed emergency works on within Highways England Area 2 for Toppesfield, including:
- M5 Junction 20 – Fuel Spill – Called at 2pm on a Saturday – full surfacing crew on site by 8pm and the road reopened at 4am
- M4 Junction 14-15 – Fuel Spill – Called at 3.30pm on a Sunday – full surfacing crew on site by 8pm and the road reopened at 4am
